Ms. Imelda Leung
Imelda Leung joined Yu, Chan & Yeung Solicitors in 2018 as a trainee solicitor and was admitted as solicitor of HKSAR in 2020. Imelda’s practice areas include general commercial practice, with a prime focus on legal and regulatory compliance on financial services, banking-related operations and intellectual property matters.
She is regularly engaged in providing services to corporations licensed by SFC on SFC inspections, investigations and enforcement proceedings and dealing with application process for both individual and corporate clients in relation to licences of Types 1, 4, 7 and 9 regulated activities under the SFO.
Imelda is also frequently instructed by clients to draft various documents in relation to financial services, including RQFII discretionary managed account agreements, standard terms and conditions for regulated activities under the SFO and draft and review internal policies for licensed corporations, including an AML policy with a methodology of institutional risk assessment and customer risk assessment, and procedures for the purpose of carrying out due diligence for cross-border correspondent relationship. She is also experienced in drafting other internal controls for financial institutions.
She has also represented a private bank in reviewing and settling a complex global software licence agreement and services agreement of the software which entails reviewing and drafting other major agreements.
Imelda is also engaged by bank clients in drafting facility letters, master loan agreements, deed of guarantees and charge over accounts in both general and specific cases as well as other financing documents.
She also acts for clients in deals in relation to acquisition of corporations licensed by SFC and other corporate vehicles and carry out work for the entire acquisition process including draft agreement for sale and purchase and due diligence.
She also provides services to clients for applications for money lender licences and registrations of charitable organization.
In addition, Imelda is experienced to assist corporate clients in applications of registration in relation to intellectual property rights in Hong Kong, PRC, Taiwan and US.
Imelda is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
